Before the NFL went to a 17-game schedule, AFC teams only saw NFC teams once every four years, rotating a division at a time. The addition of a 17th game added another interconference game to the schedule, with the opponent based on a team’s finish in their own division. This will lead to even more Super Bowl rematches than what we would have seen under the 16-game format. There are 27 games this season that are reprises of Super Bowls past, so let’s look at each of them and consider whether you should add them to your NFL betting.
NFL Betting News: Super Bowl Rematches in the 2023 Regular Season
N.Y. Giants at Buffalo Bills
Week 6
Super Bowl XXV
These days, the Buffalo Bills are the class of the AFC East once again, but some dark decades had passed in upstate New York. The Giants are on the rise, but it’s hard to call them elite. This Super Bowl was one of four in a row that featured the Bills – and the Bills lost every one of them. This game was the notorious “Wide Right” game that saw Bills kicker Scott Norwood line up for a game-winning field goal, only to push it off…wide right.

Pittsburgh Steelers at L.A. Rams
Week 7
Super Bowl XIV
This was the first Super Bowl featuring a wild-card team as the Rams won three road playoff games to get to the title game. There, they met the Steelers, and Terry Bradshaw outdueled Vince Ferragamo in a 31-19 win. The Steelers look to snag a wild card, while the Rams are looking for draft picks.

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos
Week 7
Super Bowl XXXII
The Packers had a shot at winning back-to-back title games, but the Denver Broncos didn’t let that happen. Both teams come in with major questions at quarterback – does Russell Wilson still have it? Can Jordan Love lead an offense?
Bet on the Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos
Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers
Week 8
Super Bowls XVI, XXIII
Neither Kenny Anderson nor Boomer Esiason could lead the Bengals past the 49ers. This is a possible Super Bowl preview, and at this writing I would give Joe Burrow and the Bengals the edge.
Bet on the Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers
New Orleans Saints at Indianapolis Colts
Week 8
Super Bowl XLIV
This game led to the Saints’ lone world championship. Drew Brees is long gone, leaving Derek Carr with huge shoes to fill. The Colts also have a new name at quarterback, with Anthony Richardson hoping to lead the franchise to great heights.

Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 10
Super Bowl XLV
Aaron Rodgers has just one world championship, and it came on a day when the city of Dallas was smothered in ice, an unusual but somehow suitable backdrop for the Packers bringing the frozen tundra south and winning, 31-25. The Steelers should have the upper hand here, though.
Bet on the Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs
Week 11
Super Bowl LVII
The Chiefs came back to beat the Eagles in the most recent Super Bowl. Can the Eagles get revenge on the road?

New England Patriots at N.Y. Giants
Week 12
Super Bowls XLII, XLVI
The Giants upset the Patriots in both of these Super Bowls, including one game that ruined the Patriots’ shot at a perfect season. The Giants should get the win here too.
Bet on the New England Patriots at N.Y. Giants
Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers
Week 13
Super Bowl I
The game wasn’t even called the Super Bowl yet – it was the AFL-NFL Championship. The Packers rolled, 35-10. This time around, the Chiefs are on top of the league, and the Packers are starting over with a new quarterback.
Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers
Miami Dolphins at Washington Commanders
Week 13
Super Bowls VII, XVII
Super Bowl VII was the Dolphins’ first Super Bowl title and the end of the only perfect season in NFL history since the merger. Twenty years later, Washington got revenge, and the franchise got its first Lombardi Trophy. Miami has playoff visions this year, while the Commanders are just looking for a quarterback.

Arizona Cardinals at Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 13
Super Bowl XLIII
It looked like Kurt Warner was going to lead the Cardinals to their first league title. However, Pittsburgh got a late strike to Santonio Holmes to eke out the 27-23 win, giving the Steelers their sixth title. The Steelers should take care of business against a Cardinals team that is deep into a rebuild.

Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders
Week 14
Super Bowl XI
John Madden was still coaching in this game, which was the Raiders’ first world championship in their second shot at it. The Vikings have not been back to a Super Bowl since. This time around, it’s a bit of a roll of the dice, no pun intended.
Bet on the Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders
Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills
Week 15
Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII
Two Super Bowls, two Dallas routs. The Cowboys haven’t been to a Super Bowl in 23 years, but it’s been even longer for the Bills. This time, though, the Bills should deliver a hide-tanning at home.
Bet on the Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills
Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins
Week 16
Super Bowl VI
The Cowboys rolled, 24-3, setting a Super Bowl record for fewest points permitted. The Cowboys have the defense to stifle Tua Tagovailoa, if they can contain the chunk plays.
Bet on the Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins
Pittsburgh Steelers at Seattle Seahawks
Week 17
Super Bowl XL
Which rising team will win this game? Seattle is tough at home, but the Steelers are tough everywhere.
