Denny Hamlin won the last NASCAR Cup Series Round of 16 race, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor speedway. He took the lead coming out of pit road on Lap 366 of 500, and he ran away from Kyle Larson, beating him by 2.462 seconds. He led the last 135 laps and led 142 overall. The only driver who led more laps was Christopher Bell, who won the pole position and ended up finishing third. Other notable results in terms of Round of 12 qualification included Kevin Harvick, who got eliminated along with defending champion Joey Logano. Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Michael McDowell are also out. Bubba Wallace was on the edge of falling out of contention, but he moved on to the Round of 12 by four points. This week the Cup Series moves to Texas Motor Speedway to open the Round of 12 in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. The race is set for Sunday at 3:30 pm Eastern time, with the telecast on USA Network and the radio call on PRN and SiriusXM. We have the NASCAR Cup Series Odds for each driver to win the race, along with NASCAR wager card suggestions for you.

Martin Truex Jr won the regular-season points title but barely made it into the Round of 12. Hopefully the yips and the misfortunes are behind him now and he can go back to his consistent pattern of speed.
Denny Hamlin won last week and is a co-favorite this week for good reason.
Tyler Reddick won at Texas Motor Speedway in 2022. He’s done well at other intermediate track races as well; he won at Kansas and came in second at Darlington in the most recent 2023 events on those tracks.
Christopher Bell has a fast car; all five Toyota drivers are in the round of 12. He has won three straight pole positions. This makes him a strong fantasy candidate as he will stack up laps led, but it’s also a lot easier to win outright when you start at the front.
William Byron has struggled a bit in the last two races, but before that he had four straight top-five finishes. He’s an interesting pick to sneak in and snatch the playoff title at this point.
Ryan Blaney has the top driver rating over the last eight races at Texas Motor speedway. In the last four months, Blaney won one of the few other 1 ½-mile intermediate track races by taking the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.
Chris Buescher won in Michigan, on a two-mile intermediate track. Over the last four months, Buescher is in the top five for points, but it remains to be seen if he can win on a track of this length, a more traditional intermediate track.
Kyle Busch is driving the No. 8 RCR Chevy, which Tyler Reddick drove to victory at the 2022 Texas Motor Speedway race, also leading the most laps. Over the last eight races, Busch has posted a top-five rating in the race five times.
Ty Gibbs is one of three JGR drivers who are still in playoff contention. At Bristol, he drew the third-highest rating.
Ross Chastain won in June at Nashville. Since then, he has only made the top five once, at Darlington, and the top ten one other time, at Michigan.
