NCAAF Odds: After a long off-season, college football is ready to return! This Saturday is considered Week Zero – we only have seven games before us, headlined by Navy’s showdown with Notre Dame across the ocean in Ireland. Teams that play in Week Zero haven’t had quite as much time to prepare to play as those teams that wait to make their debut on Labor Day weekend. The benefit is national exposure – all seven games will appear on major broadcast networks – but the drawback is a lack of preparation. Which games should you include in your college football betting? Read on to find out the NCAAF Betting Teams to win it all!

NCAAF Betting Teams – Navy Midshipmen vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:30 pm ET
Where: Aviva Stadium, Dublin
TV/Streaming: NBC
NCAAF Odds: Navy Midshipmen (+20.5) vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish (O/U 50.5)
International travel involves plenty of distractions, even for professional athletes. For teenagers who may never have traveled more than a few hours away from home before going to college? You can imagine that going to Ireland in Week Zero could lead to a loss of focus. The Fighting Irish are ranked 13th in the nation, but they take on a Navy team that likes to grind away at the clock by using the triple option. Can the Irish really hold a three-touchdown lead under these circumstances? I would avoid betting on this because of all of these risk factors, but if you insist on wagering, I would take Navy to cover. Avoid.

NCAAF Betting Teams – UTEP vs Jacksonville State
NCAAF Odds: UTEP (+1) at Jacksonville State (O/U 53.5)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 5:30 pm ET
Where: Burgess-Snow Field, Jacksonville, AL
TV/Streaming: CBS Sports
UTEP has a brand-new Conference USA slate this year after the shakeups that occurred in college football last year. The Miners went just 5-7 last year, but they return quarterback Gavin Hardison – who looks to rebound from a 52.1% pass completion rate. The Miners visit a Jacksonville State team that will be making its FBS debut. This is the Conference USA opener for both teams. Jacksonville State ranked fifth in FCS last year in rushing (424 yards per game) and could pound the Miners. Jacksonville State to win and cover. Bet.

NCAAF Betting Teams – UMass vs New Mexico State
NCAAF Odds: UMass (+6.5) at New Mexico State (O/U 44.5)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Aggie Memorial Stadium, Las Cruces, NM
TV/Streaming: ESPN
This is the third meeting between the programs, and New Mexico State looks to stay perfect against the Minutemen. They beat UMass on the road last year, 23-13, as UMass went just 1-11 in 2022. That makes four straight seasons in which they failed to get multiple wins in a season. They do have eight starters back on a defense that was ninth in the nation against the pass (175.2 yards permitted per game). The offense, though, was dead last among FBS programs last year, scoring no more than 10 points in seven of their 12 contests. New Mexico State went 6-1 down the stretch to finish at 7-6 and ranked 56th in the nation in rushing offense. New Mexico State to win and cover. Bet.

NCAAF Betting Teams – Ohio vs San Diego State
NCAAF Odds: Ohio U (+2.5) at San Diego State (O/U 49)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego, CA
TV/Streaming: FS1
Ohio scored 31.8 points per game last year, 41st in the nation, and starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke returns after missing the end of last season with a torn ACL. On defense, they permitted 28.3 points per game (81st) and were sixth-worst in the nation on pass defense. San Diego State is more of a defense-first program, keeping the ball on the ground to force a pounding rhythm. With those problems on defense, I don’t see Ohio getting this win on the road, but San Diego State isn’t that reliable, either. San Diego State to win and cover. Avoid.

NCAAF Betting Teams – Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors vs Vanderbilt Commodores
NCAAF Odds: Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors (+17.5) at Vanderbilt Commodores (O/U 55.5)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: FirstBank Stadium, Nashville, TN
TV/Streaming: SEC/ESPN Network
Hawai’i went 9-4-0 against the spread in 2022, and they were an underdog of 17 ½ or more points three times last year, covering twice. Vanderbilt went 5-7-0 against the spread. The Rainbow Warriors do have sentiment on their side after the wildfire disaster on Maui. However, Vanderbilt beat them in Hawai’i last year, 63-10, and Hawai’i hasn’t solved its problems with the rushing defense. Also, Hawai’i has lost its last 10 road games by 18 or more points each. Vanderbilt to win and cover. Bet.

NCAAF Betting Teams – San Jose State Spartans vs USC Trojans
NCAAF Odds: San Jose State Spartans (+30.5) at USC Trojans (O/U 66)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
TV/Streaming: Pac-12 Network
Last year, USC opened against Rice and rolled, 66-14. We know that the Trojans don’t play much defense, but against non-Power 5 opponents, they have the talent on that side of the ball to keep teams in line. They followed up that win over Rice with a 45-17 thumping of Fresno State. The Trojans last played against Tulane and saw their defense melt down in a humiliating loss, so they have motivation to put forth effort on D for at least a few weeks. USC to win and cover. Bet.

NCAAF Betting Teams – Florida International vs Louisiana Tech
NCAAF Odds: Florida International (+11.5) at Louisiana Tech (O/U 58.5)
When: Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
TV/Streaming: CBS Sports
FIU is used to being a double-digit underdog; they were at least 11-point dogs nine different times last year and failed to cover five times. They posted a 4-8 record last year – including a four-game skid to finish the season. The offense only put up 18.7 points per game (122nd of 133 FBS teams), and the defense allowed 37.3 (ranking 129th). They also lost their top receiver to Maryland and their top tight end to Auburn. Louisiana Tech also struggled on defense, allowing 37.9 points per game (130th). Quarterback Hank Bachmeier transferred from Boise State last year; in his career, he has a 41:19 TD:INT ratio. Louisiana Tech to win and cover. Avoid.
