For the second straight season, the Cincinnati Bengals have started a regular season with an 0-2 slate after advancing at least to the AFC Championship the prior season. This year, the Bengals got smashed in Cleveland, 24-3, to start the season, and then they came home to have a comeback against the Baltimore Ravens fall just short, 27-24. They head to prime time for Week 3 in a rematch of Super Bowl LVI as they welcome the Los Angeles Rams, who enter with a 1-1 slate. The Rams started the year with a dominant 30-13 win up in Seattle before returning home to lose a dogfight against the San Francisco 49ers. Matthew Stafford looks resurgent despite not having Cooper Kupp running routes, and the Rams’ running game is strong even after trading Cam Akers. Why should you bet on the Los Angeles Rams?
The Rams’ offense is off and running, putting up 26.5 points per game so far. Matthew Stafford fought off a couple of tough injuries last year and has upped his passing yardage average to 320.5 yards per contest so far. Puka Nacua has been a real find, picking up 266 receiving yards in his first two games in the league, and Tutu Atwell has shown an ability to get separation on routes as well. The running game has centered around Kyren Williams so far, with a team average of 90.5 yards per game.
On defense, things have been a bit inconsistent so far. The team allows 21.5 points per game, but the pass rush has been solid. Edge rushers Michael Hoecht and Byron Young have combined for two sacks and five quarterback hits, and Aaron Donald has four tackles for loss and two quarterback hits, but the linebackers and the secondary have struggled so far. Middle linebacker Ernest Jones and safety Jordan Fuller both need to work harder to slow opponents down rushing up the middle.

Why should you put your money on the Cincinnati Bengals?
The Bengals’ offense still looks like it’s stuck in the middle of summer, and while that was also a factor in 2022, it’s something the team needs to improve as Joe Burrow continues to grow into a franchise quarterback in the NFL. Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase have only combined for 159 receiving yards through two games, and Burrow is going to have to rehab that calf injury on the fly. In the running game, Joe Mixon has only run for 115 yards through two games.
The defense has permitted 25.5 points per game so far. Trey Hendrikson and B.J. Hill have combined for a pair of sacks and three quarterback hits, and safety Daxton Hill has a pick and two passes defensed, but the linebackers and the rest of the secondary are still struggling to stop the opposition. The running defense has been particularly generous, permitting 192 rushing yards per game.

Rams vs Bengals MNF Final Score and Prediction
This is the time when Joe Burrow and the Bengals figured things out and started to work their way toward another AFC North title and another deep playoff run. The Bengals almost delivered a comeback win against Baltimore last week, and I see their defense figuring things out and delivering a home win. I predict a final score of Cincinnati 27, Los Angeles 21.
